Expression is not decoration.
It is the tremor beneath the surface, the pressure point where thought becomes form and feeling refuses to stay quiet.

For its forthcoming members’ exhibition, Oriel Q Gallery invites works that do not merely describe, but declare.

Gesture, mark, colour, material, silence—whatever language you speak, let it speak fully. Expression may be exuberant or restrained, furious or tender; it may shout, whisper, or stare back at us unblinking. What matters is that it is necessary.

This exhibition seeks works that carry intention in their bones—where the hand, the mind, and the pulse align. Expression is not a style. It is an urgency.

Exhibition details

  • Exhibition opens: Saturday 7th February

  • Runs until: 7th March

  • Exhibition Preview: Saturday 7th February, 4–7pm

  • Entry deadline: Monday 2nd February

Members are warmly encouraged to submit work that feels vital, unresolved, bold, or quietly insistent. Let the work arrive as it must.
