BACK TO COLLAGE ORIEL Q GALLERY NARBERTH

As soon as it was decided to hold “Back to Collage” at Oriel Q it became apparent how many artists active in this part of Wales are exploring the possibilities of collage.

The guest curator for this show is Peter Rossiter

The exhibition, has over 30 artists taking part, and demonstrates the exciting range  this multifaceted medium offers: from escapist exotic fantasy to cutting edge  reflections on the world we live in. In fact term “collage” derives from the French word for cutting, referring to the method of cut and paste which is the basis of Collage. Part of the reason why Collage is so relevant is that it responds to the experience of life with its continuous onslaught of juxtapositions, continual visual stimulation and interruptions. This exhibition demonstrates how far Narberth is from being a rural backwater, and how Narberth’s Oriel Q Gallery remains a strategically placed and strong contemporary venue providing an experience of the pulse of art “now.”
